The honest bit
You can do all of this yourself. Here's what it involves.
The state charges 790-012. If you have the time and the Spanish, that's the cheapest route and we'd rather say so.
| — | Do it yourself | With us |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | 790-012 tasa | €35 + the same 790-012 tasa at cost |
| The EX-23 | You complete it, in Spanish | We prepare it from your documents |
| The tasa | Generate at the Tesoro, pay at a bank or online | We prepare and pay it |
| The appointment | Refresh the cita previa site and hope | We hunt it, across every release |
| Checking it's right | You find out at the counter | Every detail cross-checked against your documents first |
| If a detail is wrong | New appointment, new wait | We catch it before you go |
| Attending in person | Required | Still required — this part is legally yours |
| Typical effort | An evening, then weeks of refreshing | About five minutes |
Do it yourself if you're comfortable in Spanish, your renewal window is wide open, and you don't mind refreshing an appointment page for a fortnight.
Use us if your card expires soon, you've already tried for an appointment, or you'd rather not discover a mistake at the counter.
Photograph your card. We'll take it from there.
